The reception of the video stream for artists exceeded our expectations, but we don’t stop there. We have put many months of hard work into the development of this project to give artists and their fans an even better experience. This is a completely new quality and a completely different approach to presenting sets of talented artists.
Underton is an underground portal for creators and lovers of club culture that cannot be clearly defined. We have existed as a group since 2009, and the first written articles were published four years later thanks to the merger of the Krakow DJ community and the editorial staff of the no longer formally existing academic radio Radiofonia. From the beginning, our goal was to create a creative space where artists could exchange experiences and build relationships with their audience.
Recording the first video set was quite a challenge. Weeks of studio preparation and the involvement of many people led to the creation of a series of videos called Underton Live. The first recorded set was the performance of Gheordu, our editorial colleague, who believed in this project, not yet expecting what impact it would leave on the Polish and European music scene.
After a successful premiere and many positive comments, there was one direction – to combine the video content with the Underton portal, resulting in the Underton Live section. This is an acid-style space where you will find all the sets we have recorded, along with descriptions and links to the social media of your favorite artists. You can browse the recordings by category, share them easily and leave your ratings, on the basis of which we will present the best sets in a given season and reward their creators.
It’s not everything. On the Underton Live home page you will also find a unique video installation, which over time will give way to visual artists who can present their best works there. Combining sound, film and design in the best form is our goal, which motivates us to act and unites our editorial team in building a new quality on the music scene. A scene that we are all a part of and which would not exist primarily without you – the Artists.
