Lokschuppen Berlin

Warschauer Brücke, Revaler Straße 99 – Berlin, Germany

Lokschuppen is one of the clubs that has maintained Friedrichshain’s club identity over the years. Unlike more monumental venues like Berghain or Tresor, it focused on a more direct, local atmosphere and collaborations with independent collectives. It was here that events related to hard techno, trance, hardcore, and the new wave of the Berlin underground developed.

The club operates in the RAW-Gelände section of Warschauer Straße and offers both an indoor space and a popular open-air venue. The program includes techno, hard techno, trance, house, and events organized by local collectives. Despite numerous name and location changes, it remains one of the most enduring elements of the Berlin electronic scene.

Lokschuppen Berlin is a club with roots dating back to 1994. It began as Suicide Circus, survived several moves, found its home in RAW-Gelände, and began a new chapter under its current name in 2024. For many, it is one of the last representatives of Friedrichshain’s classic, constantly evolving techno culture.

History

1994 – Suicide Circus opens on Dircksenstraße.
1999 – Closure of one of the first locations and a period of address changes. 2009 – Move to RAW-Gelände in Friedrichshain.
2024 – Name changed to Lokschuppen Berlin.
Present – Operations as one of the main techno clubs in RAW-Gelände.
