Wilhelminenhofstr. 76/77, Berlín, Germany
MaHalla in Berlin is a cultural and innovation space located in the historic AEG turbine hall, which is being transformed from a disused industrial building into a mix of creative and science businesses.
Created by artist Ralf Schmerberg, the project aims to revitalize this area of Oberschöneweide, making use of the 1895 building that was Europe’s first three-phase power plant.
The building was constructed in 1895 as Europe’s first three-phase power plant. The complex has been largely empty since the early 1990s.
Schmerberg’s project aims to breathe new life into it, transforming it into a hub of activity.
In recent years at MaHalla, we have organized fashion shows, presentations, exhibitions, dances, screenings, dinners, markets, film and photography productions, DJ performances and live concerts, meditation sessions, and much more.
Within MaHalla, there are a total of nine different spaces available for all kinds of events: from small, cozy gatherings to large-scale audiovisual productions.
The goal of this place:
Seeks to be a meeting point for creativity, culture, and science in Oberschöneweide.
Revitalize a historic industrial building.
Create an environment that combines creative businesses with scientific advances.
Promote innovation and art in the heart of Berlin.
