Ciało

Joannitów 13 – Wrocław, Poland

The club was created in 2018 as a response to the gap after the closure of the legendary Das Lokal. From the beginning, the goal was to create a place focused on the quality of music, a good sound system and club culture inspired by Berlin.

Ciało (Body) started operating in the basement at ul. Świdnicka. From the very beginning, the focus was on house and techno, selective booking and refined acoustics. At a time when many clubs focused on commercialism, Ciało built its position thanks to a consistent music program and an atmosphere centered around the dance floor. After the pandemic, the club announced the closure of the old location, but it was the beginning of a new chapter. In 2022, the Body moved to a larger facility at Joannitów 13, next to the main station. The new space made it possible to create two dance floors, expand the program of events and open a summer courtyard.

Within a few years, Ciało became the most important electronic music club in Wrocław and one of the most important techno addresses in Poland. Both leading Polish artists and world names from the house and techno scene were guests here. The club regularly appears in the calendars of Resident Advisor, Muno and the largest Polish promoters.

The body played a key role in rebuilding Wrocław’s club identity after the closure of Das Lokal. A community of DJs, promoters and collectives was created around the club, which today co-create the local electronic scene. The club promotes a culture of conscious participation, respect for artists and a focus on music instead of a consumerist model of nightlife.

Today, Ciało operates at Joannitów 13 and organizes regular house, techno, electro events and alternative music concerts. In addition to club activities, it also develops educational and community projects related to DJ culture and electronic music production. Ciało created a space around which a new generation of the electronic scene was built. It is not the largest club in Poland, but for many people it is today the most important point of reference for techno culture in Lower Silesia.
