Haile I selassieI Jah rastafarI one perfect love for one and all! My name is Ras Benjamin MalikZadek vocalist and one of founder of the group Bahtawi.
Bahtawi in essence is conformed by its founders that would be my person Ras Benjamin on vocals, my brother Congo zebby on bass, Raul mota on guitar, Oscar Bueno (goodman) on drums and over the years we have been adding musicians, currently this miguel oviedo on guitar and Andres coco on keyboards, we have Christopher on drums as part of the crew covering goodman.

Bahtawi was officially born in 2018 as a band, but the work has been brewing since long before, Bahtawi was born as inspiration through the labors of tradition that were performed through the Nyahbinghi order, of rastafarI, this was the source of inspiration and foundation that gives life to Bahtawi, which would later be formed as a band to bring that essence , that message and that word of edification, salvation and redemption that is rastafarI through a massive medium such as Reggae music. Thus began this meditation through Reggae to share the message of light and love that RastafarI brings at this time that were the same work we had been doing but through RastafarI as a tradition and organization and Nyahbinghi which is the traditional music of the RastafarI tradition.
In the next projects are the release of our album and singles through digital music platforms, video clip premiere and we hope this year to make an international tour that we have been developing, but the closest are shows in the capital to continue showing the work and sharing the message.

Basically the desire starts from as the song of praise nyahbinghi says “everyone should know who rastafarI is” and we will never be at peace while doing wrong, therefore our mission and vocation is to continue carrying the message and the word that heals the heart and revitalizes the soul, the impulse we receive from the people who enjoy and are filled with the music and message, that is the oil for our lamp and to them we owe our work.
The musical formation Bahtawi is a classic Reggae Roots, drums, bass, two guitars (one lead and one riddim guitar) and keyboard. We had percussion a big brother founder of Bahtawi also and sometimes we add a metal trombone with kenmanuel Araujo. Percussion with drums is an important part of the lineup because it brings the essence of Africa to whom we pay homage as the cradle of civilization and life.
This message and this music will continue to grow and grow until it reaches all hearts, for us the greatest honor and blessing is that people vibrate and identify with the work, the message and the music, that it fills them, we give eternal thanks to all who support us and are always part of the “Bahtawi Family” because without them nothing is possible and to those who still do not know us I say that with the sweet Reggae music you will not only enjoy and dance but also fill your heart and edify your mind.
