On October 27, DJ and producer Skrillex will perform for the first time at Berghain. He is part of the line-up of an event of the Berlin label PAN.
The influential PAN brand celebrates its 15th anniversary with an event awaited by the German public. In addition to Skrillex, on the Berghain dancefloor will also perform Tzusing , Crystallmess and Amnesia Scanner. The founders of PAN (Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg), Bill Kouligas , Dj Babatr , Yves Tumor , Doss and Objekt will perform at the Panorama Bar .
Let’s start by talking a little about this iconic place.
Berghain, Berlin’s cult club, is also considered the best discotheque in the world by the English magazine DJ Mag and by many of its standard bearers. Perhaps that is why it is now receiving state support: 1.2 million euros from the assets of the parties and mass organizations of the GDR.
Its name is an acronym for Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain (Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg), and it is located just a few meters from the main train station of the former East Berlin, Ostbahnhof. An American journalist described Berghain in 2007 as possibly today’s techno capital of the world, just like E-Werk or Tresor in their respective heyday.
Now let’s talk a little about Skrillex.
Skrillex is best known for his Dubstep productions and recently released a double album. In September he performed at the Draaimolen Festival in Tilburg.
Sonny John Moore (Los Angeles, California; January 15, 1988), known by his stage name Skrillex, is an American singer, record producer and DJ.
Skrillex became the most decorated dance musician in the history of the Grammy Awards after surpassing French duo Daft Punk in 2013, and currently has eight awards and fourteen total nominations. DJ Mag considered him the ninth best DJ in the world from 2014 to 2016, while 1001 Tracklists named him the best music producer from 2016 to 2017. In addition, he stood out as co-producer of artists such as Justin Bieber, Camila Cabello, Jennifer Lopez, The Weeknd and Mariah Carey, and was part of the supergroups Dog Blood (2012-present) with Boys Noize, and Jack Ü (2013-2016) with Diplo. With the latter he made the single “Where Are Ü Now”, which sold five million copies in the United States alone.
