Every time I try to imagine Amon Tobin, a throne appears before my eyes. On the throne sits Amon, bigger and more powerful than an ordinary man, more like the Egyptian god Amun, the perpetrator of invisible wind, fertility and fertility (speaking of fertility, yes, Amon is incredibly fertile – musically).
It is a hot evening, you do not know where you can smell the Brazilian flora in the air, there is twilight around the throne, and fog hovers over the ground. Near the throne dance his subjects – Sounds. Amon captured those who aimlessly roamed the world alone. Now the sounds are servants, but they live well in his kingdom. Amon is a wise and honest ruler, and the sounds in his company feel great. Only he can combine them into happy couples and thus give them a melody, even those who have felt dirty and ugly all their lives, for whom there was seemingly no rescue.
However, Amon has a secret that only selected sounds know about. When night comes, Amon transforms from a calm, though psychedelic king into an unpredictable party boy – Two Fingers. Already in a changed form, he sets off to conquer the night. Standing behind decks and his prototype cosmic synthesizer of sounds, reminiscent of a church organ, he plays, and the whole room dances in a deep trance, as if in a dream.
Amon Tobin is reportedly a 42-year-old Brazilian currently living in Montreal… However, I am not at all convinced. Amon for me is the Mozart of contemporary music, the genius of sounds, the king of samples. It doesn’t try to fit into any musical style, it’s the musical style that tries to keep up with it.
His recent achievement is signed with the nickname Two Fingers, strongly twisted, condensed, crazy mixtape with a very adequate bomb on the cover of “2013 MIX”, which is available for FREE download on the site www.amontobin.com Enter and download necessarily!
