A model who discovers her expression through art, fusing her creations and defining her style, today we talk to Neymar Vargas, a Venezuelan who expresses herself through art and her attitude in front of the camera.
When and where was Neymar Vargas born?
Hey, I think that Neymar was born as an artist the day he saw his mom painting in her free time squares with motivational messages, she collected images, pasted them and put together works of art with so little, she included me in her creative processes and profited from it, then I knew what mandalas are and I started to draw many and many, to practice. I think my mom was an important factor in my artistic awakening.
What is the artistic activity that you enjoy the most?
Hey, it’s hard to decide on one, but I consider that drawing is one of my favorite (when I’m inspired). I feel like I flow with it, making my designs, exploiting my creativity.
How do you merge modeling with fine arts?
Hey, they are two very different and very similar areas, because if you think about it, a model is the muse of any designer, she has to pose, walk simulating that she does it on a cloud and everything is majestic. The event of my graduation as a model was held at the National Art Gallery, my experience was incredible, everything was exquisite, in the background while we were walking a saxophone was playing and around us many divine works of art by Venezuelan and international artists.
Tell us about your artistic hobbies?
Mmm, you could say they are my hobbies but I practice them when I’m comfortable, in tune, when I’m inspired. I don’t practice them with a specific schedule, they would be drawing, creating clothes (this fascinates me).
I also like to sing a lot, I do it when I draw and it helps me to relax.
How do you think your work influences the social sphere?
We are creators! I think we can make a change, from giving drawing classes and reusing plastic and garments, to painting murals with transforming messages that make people happy and make them think. So why not create new proposals? Something that greatly influences our environment is the fact of giving another use to things or clothes, give them an artistic touch, paint them, modify them and thus demonstrate that it is possible!
You can create pieces of art with plastic bottles and old bills (going a little bit to the everyday).
What is modeling for you?
Transmitting emotions, without saying anything, is practically an art, many say that you are a hook, that it’s not the model, it’s the garment, and in a way it’s true! But without the model who knows how to wear it, the garment would be just that, a lifeless garment.
What do you think about when you are in front of the camera?
At the beginning it was something of nerves, then after practice when it comes to making a commercial or recording something, is to close your eyes, breathe and think: “you can do it, transmit what you need to transmit, do it”.
When I record for my networks, in my stories, I tend to be very spontaneous, if I’m walking I simply say some reflection I had at the time and share it with my followers, I like to be the kind of model or person who brings something good to society, to the world.
How was your experience with muralism?
Ufff, it was something very crazy, since I knew how to paint, I had knowledge, but I had never participated in muralism, hahaha the dimensions were very different, and there were many techniques that I did not know, there I learned to graffiti, my street side came out.
Any message you would like to convey to children who are interested in artistic media?
That they are the new and future eyes and hands of our world, that they believe in themselves, that they never stop being creative and that they explode with creativity, to their parents I would tell them to support their children, to listen to them and to exploit the talent of each one of them.
Thank you very much to Neymar for allowing us to conduct this interview today, I invite you to follow it on his social networks.
