Dj H.ache also known as Dj Hernia is an important character for the underground movement in Venezuela, between melody, rhythm and acetates tells us part of his artistic career, enjoy it!
Astrid: Why the name Dj Hache?
Hache: My first A.K.A was “Hernia” musical artistic pseudonym for a herniated disc injury and over time and my surgical intervention I was changing it to ‘H ache internacional’ what began as a chalequeo (joke) became an official A.K.A of one of the pioneers, Legends of the urban underground musical movement criolla caraqueña.
Astrid: How long has your project existed and how did the idea originate?
Hache: I think that more than project, way of life, universal, professional and international language; I was born and lived in a family collector of acetates, there was always the idea and we are still between covers, LP’s, melodies and rhythms. Always acetate, pasta, pure pasticho.
Astrid: Do you work with real vinyl records and other sources? Example digital platforms etc
Hache: I work with acetates 1000% junkie analogue of that sound, presence, aptitude, music lover, digger. I just released a year ago an instrumental single from an album I’ve been doing with samples, elements, acetate fragments on Spotfy.
I was born in an era and I live it without much showbiz, or likes, or views, I was born without computers.
Astrid: Do you belong to a crew or do you work alone?
Hache: I have done everything alone, in 2015 I formed the ‘Club Vinil’ a meeting with a couple of collectors in Caracas where our collections were sounded in gourmet restaurants, signature food, events where they know and appreciate what we placed the Vinil Club more than Crew, an institution, academy, school, H ache main member and founder.
Astrid: What has been the event that you liked the most in which you participated?
Hache: Of festivals and events are many in different countries, “Rock en Ñ” in Santiago de Chile, being Dj of “Vagos y Maleantes” in Venezuela, sharing the stage with “Violadores del Verso” (Spanish group), with “3 Dueños”, as official DJ LAMC in New York, sharing the stage with Gustavo Cerati at the Teresa Carreño theater, festivals in London, New Castle, India.
Astrid: Have you had collaborations with artists outside your project?
Hache: Collaborations with ‘Divagash’ (Colombia), ‘Papashanty Sound System’, “Sur Caravela and many that I don’t even remember. Official DJ of ‘Reje’, ‘Bostas Brain’, ‘Trece’, ‘Bacalao Men’, ‘4to poder’, ‘3 Dueños’.
Astrid: What would be the main objective of your work?
Hache: The goal comes from research, from faith, from stubbornness, perseverance, evolution and technique, to educate and spread good music, to make music from my great collection in infinity and beyond.
Astrid: Is it merely virtual or do you also participate in festivals or events where people can attend?
Hache: Virtual, face-to-face and massive, I have just arrived from a festival here in Santa Marta, Colombia.
Astrid: What aesthetic defines Dj Hache?
Hache: Classic / Old School.
