The festival of the arts is a movement that was born from the students and graduates of the old institute "Armando Reverón" IUESAPAR (Caño amarillo / Caracas).
It arises in commemoration of the day of the Plastic Artist and in turn the birthday of the Venezuelan painter Armando Reverón, began around the 70s and 80s when students and artists graduated met doing cultural activities around plastic work, painting, sculpture, community intervention; over time it merged with the celebration of the Cruz de Mayo of the Caño Amarillo sector, where there is also a very strong musical community of Caracas specifically of drums highlighting the roots, the blackness.
Between the years 90 and 2000 'The festival of the arts' and the celebration of the life and work of Master Armando Reverón becomes a procession where the patron of this is said artist reaching a more religious aspect, a doll is created simulating this artist and walked throughout the community of Caño amarillo while the inhabitants paid homage and at the same time cultural activities such as painting murals and interventions, forums, workshops, presentations, performance and other activities that were extended from a week to a month of programming, always with a voluntary, totally independent participation that is not formally linked to the institution.
In this current year, the people delegated for the production and organization of the party continue to have the emotional commitment, looking for something tangible and registering it.
