David is a skateboarder born in Punto Fijo Falcón State, Venezuela. With 31 years, he lives in his hometown, today he tells us what his life is like in the world of Skateboarding.
Astrid: Since when do you skate?
David: I started skating in mid-2006 and early 2007, I’ve been skating for about 15 years.
Astrid: How do you identify skating style? Skate, down hill, longboard?
David: I identify with skate street, street skateboarding, shortly after with the creation of a mini ramp near my house I began to skate vertical style, to diversify as a skateboarder, with respect to downhill is a very Roots style of skateboarding, aggressive as dangerous, the adrenaline it causes is definitely addictive.
I don’t skate longboard, it’s just not my thing, if other people practice it, good for them but it’s not my style.
Astrid: What do you think the benefits of being able to skate are for you?
David: Fun, learning, self-improvement, the friendships that are forged through skateboarding.
Astrid: Do you skate to get a sponsorship or for a hobby?
David: It’s my lifestyle, I’m my own sponsor.
Astrid: What are the best skating sites for you?
David: In my land: Plaza Bolivar, the drains, the streets of Punto Fijo, Parque Bacoa and Parque Metropolitano, nationwide the city of Maracaibo, Valencia, Maracay, Margarita, Coro, and the capital Caracas.
Astrid: Do you have any influence?
David: Keith Hufnagel.
Astrid: Which country do you think is the world headquarters of skateboarding?
David: Copenhagen / Denmark.
Astrid: Which brand on the market do you think is the best?
David: Volcom, Vans, Anti Hero. And national: V. And. C. – Pow – Ribs.
Astrid: What other things do you do outside of skating?
David: Tattooing, Photography, editing videos, filming, making art on recycled skateboards, and creating bags and koalas.
Astrid: Would you skate for the rest of your life?
David: Until my body doesn’t hurt.
