CMND CTRL – Piotr Figiel & Marboc

Piotr Figiel and Marboc established a production cooperation, which resulted in 4 issues accepted by the American publishing house CMND CTRL. Two tracks with remixes from Milo Raad and Maccari were released in January this year, received fantastic feedback and appeared on the playlists of many people, including Amotik and DVS1.

What about the other two numbers? Well, they will be released on May 26 and have already gathered very good feedback from Pacou, Svrec, Xhei, MTD, Tadeo, Kangding Ray, Developer, James Ruskin, Kr!z, Amotik, Sigh and many others. On the EP, in addition to our original versions, you will find two remixes by Orbe and Pfirter.

CMND CTRL is a techno label run by Florida-based producer B. Riley that has featured contributions from Psyk, Alexander Kowalski, Gaetano Parisio, Ray Kajioka, and Tim Xavier. The label is known for its raw, hypnotic, and analogue sound, with twisted atmospherics and modular elements.

Some extra details the guys shared with us:

The Fusion

We’ve been circling around each other for some time, knowing about our existence. I’ve played a lot of Marcin’s tracks in my sets. I was once asked by one of the party promoters about whom I’d like to colloab with in the near future. The info was posted on the party’s instagram, Marcin wrote to me and after some quick conversation we started the process.

Creative process

We’ve done everything 100% online using what I call „ping-pong” method. We’ve been bouncing back and forth the projects between us and the other person was getting right what the first one stuck on. We’re living on the opposite sides of Poland so this has to be the wat. We have quite similar tastes in music so all the work was in fact quite swift and straightforward considering location circumstances. We’ve met personally playing on few gigs together after making the material for two eps which is funny considering our mutual vibe we achieved both in studio and on the gigs. Then the usual, looking for a label and eventually arriving at CMND CTRL.

Coming

We’ve started some work on the next tracks together so hopefully there’s gonna be something new to hear from us soon. In the mean time between releases on CMND CTRL, Marboc released his solo „Recognition EP” vinyl on Rawsery records (https://rawsery.eu/marboc/) and I have finished my next EP called „Shattered Dreams” which will be released on my imprint RWETES (rwetes.com) at the end of June 2023.

Launch on May 26.
