This great Venezuelan artist comes with a lot of things that will surprise you, from complicated letters to read, t-shirts with incredible designs to Rap music and tattoos. Enjoy it!
Astrid: What artistic work have you developed throughout your life?
Carlos: I started in graffiti in 2007, in 2013 I graduated as a graphic designer, then approximately in 2015 I started mural painting and intervention of spaces and objects, in 2018 I learned tattooing in 2019 I started rapping, currently I am developing on all platforms.
Astrid: Which branch of art do you identify with the most?
Carlos: My favorite art is music, but I develop and identify better with painting.
Astrid: Can you relate graphic design to painting and achieve an artistic fusion?
Carlos: Yes, the composition form will always be based on the same principles so they are combined to achieve a digital or manual visual, but the composition and the work is based on the same.
Astrid: Have you participated in events, exhibitions, forums, at a national level? Tell us about it and with what artistic work you participated.
Carlos: I have participated in graffiti events, then I had the opportunity to develop myself in painting events held in the Baruta mayor’s office, intervention of the Chacao Culture space, several exhibitions in “Los Galpones Art Center”, La Casa de la Cultura de Baruta, among other activities with more private companies such as offices and restaurants where their spaces are customized. After that, in Lima, Peru, I had the opportunity to mural the bases of the line 1 train and other spaces in the capital, apart from carrying out and managing mural events in the interior of that country.
Astrid: Are you an independent artist or do you develop within a crew or collective?
Carlos: Before, when I did graffiti, I developed in @limoncrewltf but with the passing of time and with the intention of formalizing what I learned, I became independent towards the artistic area and currently I develop alone.
Astrid: What personal message are you trying to project when you express yourself?
Carlos: My creations are based on the impact of history and ancient music on the idiosyncrasy and culture of today’s society.
Astrid: Do you have an upcoming project to do?
Carlos: In tattooing I try to create my own space with other colleagues, in art I am working on an exhibition to be held developing pictures and paintings, in music I am developing a rap album.
Astrid: What social impact do you think your work as an artist could have?
Carlos: Teach Latin American society the importance of its roots, where they come from, who they are, and not lose or politicize that which is characteristic of our culture.
Astrid: Between digital and manual tools, which one is more comfortable for you?
Carlos: The manual, the spray, always swim like a fish in water with a spray and a wall.
Astrid: Would you do this for the rest of your life?
Carlos: My goal is to do it for the rest of my life.
