This magical and full of surprising moments album was released just a few weeks ago. The amazing combination of live instruments, electronic sounds, vocals and silence will make the hair of many music critics stand on end. Who stands behind this unusual release?
Ayane Yamanaka was born in Nagoya, Japan. She is a recipient of the Father Frank Mahar Music Bursary scholarship. She completed her bachelor’s degree in composition and piano performance at the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama in Ireland and her master’s degree in composition at the Academy of Music in Krakow, where she received a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Her achievements include participation in concerts, conferences and film and music-art festivals such as Max Mathews in Memoriam, Elektro Nova, Audio Art Festival, Elektroniczny Koktajl Wieloowocowy, HMG Festival, aXes, Druskomanija, and Vox Electronica, held in Poland, Lithuania, Germany, Ukraine, Japan, and Ireland. Since 2019, she has been working as a music producer in a post-production studio in Tokyo, Japan.
“Hell Works” is a collection of compositions for piano, woodwinds and electronics that allow the listener to immerse themselves in the mystical and introspective world of the artist. It is also a reflection on the concept of hell in all its dimensions. The atmosphere of the album is also reflected in the unique oil painting on the cover, painted by a young Polish artist, Agata Słowak.
R3V3RS3 ORD3R is an independent music label based in Krakow, founded on February 22, 2022 by Marek Broszkiewicz and Yana Maroz. So far, they have released cassette tapes by bands such as “Nowy Ruch Psucia Dźwięku” from Krakow, “Soon to Expire” from Rotterdam, and the aforementioned composer Ayane Yamanaka, who is based in Tokyo.
