History shows that creations called supergroups are not always guarantees of a high artistic level. Great musical personalities who decide to join forces, often get lost in the maze of ideas, and wanting to create something monumental, they serve material that is difficult to absorb even by the greatest lovers of good playing.
Fortunately, there are projects that break all stereotypes and prove that the craziest ideas can be transformed into unforgettable material to which you will often return. One of them is the group The Aristocrats.
It all started by accident. At the NAMM in Anaheim in early 2011, Marco Minnemann (drums) and Bryan Beller (bass) had a one-off performance booked. At the last moment, however, the guitarist with whom they were to present the material resigned from cooperation. The gap was filled by Guthrie Govan, whom they met the day before the planned show. During the rehearsal, an incredible energy was created between the musicians, which they charged the audience raging in front of the stage the next day.
In the same year, the album The Aristocrats was created, which was a fusion of sounds from the borderline of broadly understood rock, metal and avant-garde in the style of Frank Zappa. A series of successful concerts promoting the album meant that in 2012 the trio decided to release a DVD recording of one of the performances. In 2013, despite the involvement of musicians in numerous projects, the group found time for joint sessions, which resulted in phenomenal material released on the album Culture Clash.
The band is currently on its longest tour to date. The aristocrats will also visit Polish, where they will be seen during two performances – in Warsaw and Krakow.
